MYP year 10__SA  group——The Pomegranate

 

Description and Goals:

The voluntary work is basically about supplies sorting(clothing items, toys, intelligence cultivating materials, etc. Our team members are separated in groups with different types of supplies to sort. The purpose of our donation is to indirectly help the people in need all over the world in the utility of organisation Roundabout.

4. Working collaboratively with others\\We donate items for a charity organisation Roundabout, and volunteer the store of Roundabout for sorting the supplies they have.

The Pomegranate Concert

Our SA group, The Pomegranate is willing to sponsor a child in need for medical care. We donate items for a charity organisation Roundabout, and volunteer the store of Roundabout for sorting the supplies they have. The purpose of our donation is to indirectly help the people in need in the utility of organisation Roundabout. Whilst we do voluntary work in a charity organisation called Roundabout, we found that they are able to directly contact the individuals in need. Now we have done a charity concert for donation to Roundabout, we send all the funds to Roundabout and they can contact a child in need which we support. We planned to raise funds in ways of snack selling and concert. The concert was set on 25th May Thursday ASA time, which charges 25 RMB per person(limited quantity of snacks and drinks prepared). Gloria and Sonia are the chief singers in the name of The Pomegranate. The programme consists of 8 songs, which comprises 6 songs in English and 2 in Chinese, and 2 songs of both languages sung individually by Sonia. It was optional for both students and teachers, we do not want to force people to pay the ticket by cancelling ASA’s. Thus if they choose to attend the concert, ASAs’ are not available anymore. Our goal is to raise 1,000 RMB through these 2 channels, the money collected will all be given to the child. It is an opportunity to take this step further and we shall even go to the hospital that the target child is in, knowing more about the child.
